What is the Hydration Station?

The Hydration Station is a mobile water trailer which was pioneered by South East Water for the supply of drinking water at community events.

This is a free service which is suitable for a wide range of community events (indoor and outdoor) and is a great way to ensure that patrons are well hydrated and refreshed.

How does it work?

The Hydration Station is delivered, set up and collected by our service representatives and once on site it will be connected to a water main.

If connection to a water main is unavailable and you would like to use an alternative water source such as rainwater or bore water, the water quality will need to be tested by an approved laboratory such as Ecowise. This ensures the water is safe to drink at least no more than 48 hours prior to the connection of the Hydration Station.

What are the features?

The Hydration Station features include:

  • Two stainless steel troughs on both sides of the trailer
  • Eight drinking taps
  • Eight tap outlets for filling drinking bottles
  • Mobility to position the station in the best possible location
  • The ability to be connected to mains water supply or into a storage tank supply
  • Self-contained lighting for use at night

Book the Hydration Station

If you would like to book a Hydration Station for your event, please follow these two easy steps.

  1. Read the Hydration station booking criteria form
  2. Complete the online booking form

Please note: Organisations must submit their application at least 4 weeks prior to the event taking place.

How do I complete the online form?

  1. Enter the requested information in the spaces provided.  Note: the items with a red asterisk [*] are mandatory; you need to supply this information to make a booking.
  2. To book the date, click on the start date and then the end date on the calendar (even if both are the same)
  3. Complete the rest of the details on the booking form.

What happens next?

Upon receipt of your request, your application will be assessed and you will be contacted for further information. Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis and in chronological order. You will be notified of the review outcome within one week of your application being received.

If your booking is accepted, you will be requested to provide the following:

  • an electronic copy of the site venue and location for the Hydration Station,
  • a electronic copy of the relevant public liability insurance certificate, and
  • a scanned signed copy of the standard terms and conditions
  • any other specific conditions to your booking including:
    • confirmation of security services if the Hydration Station is onsite overnight
    • confirmation of water quality if the Hydration Station is connected to a non reticulated water supply
    • Whether your Primary/Secondary school is an accredited Water Learn It! Live it! School

Successful applicants are required to sign a formal agreement, clearly detailing the needs and expectations of both parties. Decisions regarding the Hydration Station will be made at South East Water’s discretion.
