Chairman

Ms Underwood was appointed Chairman of South East Water Limited in 2005, having been a Director of the Board since December 2000. She was previously Deputy Chairman of South Gippsland Water and a Director of Audit Victoria and The Water Training Centre. Ms Underwood has private sector experience in General Management, Accounting and Marketing and was a Senior Academic Planner at RMIT.

Mr Tony Beach

Mr Beach has extensive experience in asset intensive industries such as Electricity, Gas, Water and Rail and has held senior executive roles in the Hydro-Electric Commission (Tasmania), Powercor Australia, AGL and Pacific National. He has also worked in the international sector with the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corp ( SMEC ) and as a consultant to the World Bank

Dr Geraldine Gentle

B.Econ (Hons), Ph.D.

Director

Dr. Geraldine Gentle is the Director of Economics and Policy with URS Australia, a major environmental and engineering consultancy. She is a highly qualified economist, policy analyst and adviser, experienced with the Commonwealth, Victorian and governments. Her previous roles have included Assistant Commissioner with the Industries Assistance Commission and Productivity Commission and, most recently, Deputy Director-General of the Queensland Department of Natural Resource and Mines. Ms Gentle joined the Board on 1 September 2008.

Mr James Turcato

Director

Mr Turcato is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resource Institute. He is a business consultant and professional facilitator with extensive corporate experience in financial management, business planning, strategic marketing, accounting, computer accounting systems, budget management and control.

Dr Judith Slocombe

Director

Dr. Judith Slocombe is a veterinary pathologist who developed her own business model for veterinary pathology in Australia, a business she sold to Gribbles Pathology where she was Veterinary Director until 2005. She is now CEO of the Allanah and Madeleine Foundation. Dr Slocombe also holds a variety of Board roles including Lort Smith Dogs Home and Agriculture Services Victoria. Dr. Slocombe joined the Board on 1 July 2008.

Mr Doug Shirrefs

Director

Douglas Shirrefs is a barrister and economist who practices in commercial law with a particular interest in competition and regulatory law. Before commencing practice as a lawyer he held senior positions as a regulatory economist for both the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments. He has had extensive experience in public administration, in particular in economic regulation.
