Living with water restrictions

What can and can't I do during Stage 3a water restrictions?  

Number 1
Purchase a Rainwater Tank

Find out the easiest way to purchase a rainwater tank to suit your lifestyle needs.

Number 2
Gardens - restricted watering

Hand watering - between 6-8am with a hand-held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle
Manual dripper - between 6-8am
Automatic dripper - between midnight and 2am

 

And ONLY on specified days


Even numbered houses can water on Saturday and Tuesday; odd numbered can water on Sunday and Wednesday. There is no watering on Monday, Thursday and Friday. There is no watering in the evening.

Number 3
Lawns - no watering at any time

There are exemptions for some sports grounds -  Exempt playing surfaces fact sheet (57KB)

Number 4
Cars - no washing with hoses
 Commercial car wash (86KB) can be used.
Pools or spas - no filling of new pools or spas with mains water
Alternate water sources may be used.
