Teacher Professional Development

Water is a vital topic to educate students about as we enter our fourteenth year of drought in Melbourne.  That's why staying up-to-date on all the issues and resources available to you is so important - and we are here to help!

 

As part of the Water - Learn it! Live it! program, South East Water runs regular teacher professional development sessions to help you learn and network.

The sessions come in two forms:

    Water Education for Primary Teachers

     

    This session will provide:

    • An opportunity to network with likeminded teachers and hear how other the Water – Live it! Learn it! program is being implemented at other schools
    • The opportunity to learn about water security and the future of Melbourne’s water supply
    • A tour of Balnarring Primary School with a special look at the sustainable initiatives the school has undertaken.

    When: Thursday May 6, 2010

    Time:  9am – 3pm (lunch and morning tea provided)

    Where: Balnarring Primary School

    Cost: FREE with CRT funding for schools that are part of the Water LiLi program

    Water Education for Secondary Teachers

     

    This session will provide:

    • An overview of the Water – Learn it! Live it! education program and how it works in secondary schools
    • An opportunity to learn about the science and some facts and figures behind desalination
    • An opportunity to share curriculum documents and network with likeminded teachers.

     

     

    When: Thursday May 20, 2010

    Time:  8.30am – 3pm  (lunch and morning tea provided)

    Where: Port Phillip EcoCentre.   

    Cost: FREE with CRT funding available for schools that are part of the Water LiLi program
