HydroShare is an innovative web-based reporting system that enables major industrial, commercial and institutional customers to further their knowledge and understanding of their water consumption.
What is Hydroshare?
HydroShare is great at identifying unaccounted water usage such as leaks and equipment that may still be operating when unexpected such as leaks or outlets that remain opened unnoticed. It also has the ability to immediately notify staff, via SMS or email, when water is being used unexpectedly.
HydroShare’s on-line, real-time monitoring and reporting system allows customers to make business decisions which can reduce water use and improve their commitment to the environment.
In many cases customers save additional money from reducing power used for heating, cooling and transferring water, reducing chemical use and generate process optimisation and efficiency.
Who developed HydroShare?
HydroShare was developed by South East Water and their maintenance and operation alliance partner ‘us’ - Utility Services which is an alliance between South East Water and Thiess Services/Siemens consortium.
How does it work?
Data loggers installed on water meters at customer sites feed information into a central internet portal via email through existing communications networks. Customers can securely access this up to date information from anywhere at any time via the internet.
Recorded data is instantly viewable via trends, tables and other graphical display measures, simplifying the process of information sharing. Using this innovative method, historical comparisons can be achieved and operational decisions can be made faster and more accurately.
Who is using HydroShare?
HydroShare is currently being used by a range of customers including schools, hospitals, shopping centres, the manufacturing industry, recreation and regional irrigators.
